FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

For Educators:

Do I need to live in a certain location to take part in trainings or workshops?

We offer experiences for local, national, and international communities. Our focus is on place based learning, you can learn and teach anywhere. We have learning opportunities both online and in person. Check out our program offering and modality, Not finding a fit? Reach out and let’s chat.

What is the time commitment for the educator training?

We have two standard offerings, Hummingbird (10 weeks) and Snail (5 months) meeting weekly/every other week via Zoom for 2 hours. Pre-recorded/self-guided work is required prior to each Zoom via our Learning Management System-Rise. 3-5 hours per week of reading articles, doing an activity, preparing a lesson plan, participating in asynchronous discussion or feedback, etc. You will also have a farm journal workbook where you will create a portfolio of learning you can utilize in your own teaching practice.

What do we mean when we say that our educator training programs are regenerative?

So glad you asked! Our programs are designed to promote the important discovery of both personal and professional artistry. We encourage our Fearless Educators as they make those realizations from a place of respect, joy, and love. We want to empower them with a strong connection to the place where they live and the community they are a part of. If Educators teach from that place within them that celebrates and fosters their own individuality and artistic expression, in turn, they are better equipped to support future learners in a way that is both effective and regenerative for everyone involved.

What is the Fearless Farmers Farm Journal & Workbook?

We have created a one of a kind experience with our training. The farm journal is yours to have your artistry created and kept for iteration and reflection. The farm journal is a living document of your experience in our course and relates back to the online Learning Management System as a complement.

For Farms and Ranches:

I’m interested in having agri-tourism and education on my farm/ranch, but not sure how to get started. Can you help?

We provide training to help you with logistics, but we can also help you with both defining and achieving your operation’s revenue goals. We are also here for you as a resource and sounding board after you start implementing your property’s new educational endeavors.

I run an organic farm. Can I take your class?

While we predominantly use the term “regenerative agriculture” to describe our gold standard, we are open and inclusive of many practices of soil health. Permaculture, organic, non-gmo, etc. If soil and nutrient-dense food is your priority, you are in the right place.

I’m thinking about having adults come to my farm or ranch. Can you help?

Our training is focused on youth, but the curriculum you would implement can be easily adapted and utilized to educate youth and adults. Please let us know if you focus on adults and we will be sure to incorporate some of these conversion strategies into your program.

I’m interested in starting a program to bring youth to the farm, but I’m still not sure what that looks like.

If you are looking for a “starter kit”, this would be a great fit. You can bring in revenue with educational events that cover the cost of Fearless Farmers training and curriculum after just 2 onsite events! We’ll also work together to support you as you grow your new educational enterprise.

I’m already providing educational opportunities on my farm, how is Fearless Farmers different?

At Fearless Farmers, we prioritize and support the creation of thriving, place-based communities that encompass educators, farmers & ranchers, and youth & families. We support you and your operations with a framework and building blocks for revenue generation, and we offer help along the way as you continue to make connections in your community. In addition to farmer training, we are also training educators to teach on farms and ranches, and these educators work with us to create and adapt Fearless Farmers curriculum based on exactly where you live and what makes your place unique. We believe that by 2030, if we build at least 1,000 thriving communities, collectively we can help make systems change for a better future in the generations to come.

I’m interested in farming. How do I get started?

For clarity’s sake, we are not a course in how to farm. We exist to provide you with regenerative principles and resources so that in turn, you can leverage education as a revenue driver on your farm or ranch and as a tool to strengthen community where you live. We do encourage you to follow your dreams of farming, though, and can provide you with some additional online resources as a guide. Please inquire through our Contact form if you need more information.

For Youth and Families:

How do I find a local, regenerative farm or ranch in my area?

Great question! Our friends at https://www.regenerativefarmersofamerica.com/ have set up an excellent resource center, including a MAP! Here you can find your nearest local, regenerative farm and the best ways to support them specifically.

How can I help to establish better ecological resources in my community?

Sponsor an educator to go through our training program. You can also heed the call yourself, if you’re so inclined, and explore the possibility of teaching through ecological education in your community.
